Experimental Study of a Tubular Solar Distillation System with Heat Exchanger Using a Parabolic Trough Collector

One way to overcome the scarcity of clean water through sustainable approach is by utilizing a solar distillation system. This easy-to-use technology adopting tubular distillation. The three main components, which are most essential for producing amount permeate, collector, and heat exchanger (HE). study aims determine performance device equipped with HE using parabolic trough collector (PTC). PTC has an area 5.1 m2 covered reflective chrome film. Aluminum acts as feedwater heater. placed inside tubular, coolant convert steam phase into freshwater/permeate heater flow tubular. In present study, several parameters were tested: comprise temperature, radiation, pressure, humidity, mass rate, permeate productivity efficiency. demonstrated production sufficient was 5.32 L 6 h. efficiency this yielded peak 48.2% during radiation 813 W/m2 in average ambient temperature 32 °C, overall 44.59%.
